ADO Regional Qualifier and Regional

Tonight we will be holding the last qualifier for the ADO Regional that will be held once again in Ventura this coming Saturday at The Benchwarmer. Tonight's qualifier is being played at The James Joyce with a $10 buy in. The winner will move on to the Regional this coming Saturday. If you do not win tonight you can still play in the Regional for a cost of $110. The winner of the Regional will be moving on to Colorado for Nationals.

New Tourney's and LEAGUE!

Well there are a lot more chances for everyone to be playing darts in the Central Coast these days! The once darting Meca, Santa Maria, is once again getting going. They have been hosting a Blind Draw tourney twice a month on Saturday's and it has brought some players out of the woodwork up there. Enough so that they are beginning a summer league (3 man teams) beginning in a couple of weeks. If you are interested in playing in it, please contact Kenny Keith at kennethkeith805@gmail.com

Also getting going is a soft tip tourney in Lompoc. Now soft tip has been going there for awhile with Medalist but this is a new OPEN Blind draw tourney every Saturday night where there is NO HANDICAP! The bar is putting $300 into the pot and with entry fees the payouts have been about $200 for the 1st place team paying down 3 places. Not too bad a night if you win!

ADO Regional

This weekend the ADO Regional will be held at the Benchwarmer in Ventura. The event starts at noon, sign ups at 11am. We have 4 qualifiers from SB that will be attending but it is also open to anyone who wants to play. The entry fee is $110. The winner of the event will be moving on to the East/West All Star in Connecticut.

World Series of Darts

I posted info this morning on the upcoming World Series of Darts happening in June in Las Vegas. The PDC has decided to not have the LV Desert Classic anymore and has opted for this new tourney. Anyone can enter. You need to stay at the Tropicana for the duration of the tourney in order to qualify for the discounted entry but you can pay more and stay where you want. This gives you a chance to play with the Pros you see on TV!! It's a 5 day event. If you want to just go and watch and not play in it you can do that as well as there is a supplemental tourney at night that you can play in. Should be a great time! But if you plan on going, make sure you read the dress code!!!! I know most of you in league don't dress in proper dart attire at tourneys but this tourney is the real mccoy!! And they will not let you play unless you dress proper.

Movin' along

The season is moving along well and lots of people are doing great this season. Even though I'm on the sidelines for the season I've been keeping up with who is doing what. Looks good! Can't wait to blow the dust off my darts and get back out there with you guys. And that may happen sooner than later as Steve Schiefen is talking about putting together a "fun" team that won't be competing for any trophies but just pick up some of the BYE nights to give everyone more nights of practice. So if that happens hopefully I will get some games in this season.

Also of note, I'm near complete on my new dart room. Next season I will be hosting my team out of my house. Very comfortable set up, lots of room. Another BYOB place which makes it nice too. I'll be sure to post pics of it when I'm complete.

Stay tuned for more dates for more ADO Qualifiers. The ADO Regional is being held in Ventura this next time on Saturday, May 22nd at 12 noon!

MORE BYES

I'm really sorry to have to tell everyone that they will be having a lot more byes this season but my team could just not pull it together. I was holding out some hope but it looks like it's not going to happen. So keep me in mind if you need a sub.

Spring has Sprung

The long spring season has begun and it's off to a great start. First off we had a number of ADO qualifiers to start out the season and we have at least 5 players from SB that will be going to the Regional in Chula Vista at the end of next month. That is by far the most we have EVER sent to any Regional. I know Doug McDonough (Regional Director) is thrilled with us right now. Let's hope one of us qualifiers for the Nationals!!

Please make sure to get your dues into Andy ASAP!!! Hopefully most of you paid last week.

As for me, it looks like I don't have a team this year so maybe I will just be subbing and also playing the North County blind draws that are going on twice a week. Big bummer as we have a new pub opening in Solvang that I was going to move the team to as well as my garage is almost complete. I guess I'll have to wait for next season for that.
